Ashley N. Gold

Ashley (Norton) Gold is a partner and serves as co-manager of Schulman, LeRoy & Bennett, PC.  She previously served as the Chief Executive Officer and general counsel for the Insurors of Tennessee which represented independent insurance agents in the state – a position she held for 15 years. In addition, she was a registered state lobbyist for over 17 years. In 2020 she returned to private practice allowing her the opportunity to represent agencies, companies and individuals.

Ashley is a Nashville native. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and her Juris Doctor from Samford University in Birmingham. She was recognized as an Elite Woman of 2017 by Insurance Business of America and received the Dale Carnegie Highest Award for Achievement in 2017. She currently serves on the Jennings A. Jones College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council at MTSU and was a prior member on the Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Employee Misclassification Advisory Committee.

Today she focuses her time representing business and individuals providing them with solutions they need to succeed in their construction, commercial real estate and general business matters. Having experience in owning, leasing and closing real estate projects, and she is fully aware of the need to complete a transaction on time and within budget. Her depth of experience coupled with her team at Schulman, LeRoy & Bennett brings an understanding of the varied marketplaces in which their clients do business to provide comprehensive services for whatever legal needs may arise. After 13 years leading Insurors of Tennessee, she has deep expertise in risk management, insurance laws, workers compensation, and compliance. A lobbyist for 15+ years, she worked tirelessly to ensure laws were passed that benefited her constituents and to revise laws that negatively impacted those industries to mitigate their impact. She is also an approved risk management educator for SwissRe/Westport, and delivers seminars on E&O Risk Management, workers compensation, ethics, general business knowledge and other topics. 

She is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Colorado and Alabama, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Middle District Courts in Alabama and Tennessee. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Nashville Bar Association and the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel. She is also actively involved in the Commercial Real Estate space as a member of Urban Land Institute – Nashville, WLI and Commercial Real Estate Women – Nashville.
